Georgia State Panthers Game Notes

Georgia State junior QB Darren Grainger didn't post the flashiest stat line in the 37-10 rout of Troy, but that hardly mattered. Grainger (6'4/202) was involved in both the ground and passing game, as he has been so many times before, in Saturday's big victory over the Trojans. He completed 11-of-22 passing attempts for 140 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions, also carrying the ball nine times for 45 yards. It will be interesting to see where Georgia State goes bowling, after the team achieved bowl eligibility earlier this season.

Ball State Cardinals Game Notes

Ball State redshirt senior QB Drew Plitt completed 19-of-31 passes for 176 yards and one touchdown in a 20-3 win over Buffalo on Tuesday night. Plitt (6'2/217) showed elements of being a dynamic quarterback but was mostly a competent game manager. The Bulls couldn't do much on offense and the Cardinals took advantage of opportunities. After the first interception of the game, Plitt ran the ball into the end zone from a yard out. On the next possession, Plitt threw a touchdown pass to Jayshon Jackson from seven yards out after a blocked punt. The win brings Ball State to six wins, making all six teams from the MAC West bowl eligible.
