WKU too much for USF?
South Florida could have its hands full with Western Kentucky and QB Brandon Doughty in the Miami Beach Bowl.
According to oddsmakers at MyBookie.ag, Western Kentucky is the favorite in this game, as the Hilltoppers are getting odds of -2.5 points against South Florida. The over/under total for the game has been set at 66.5 points. These two meet in the Miami Beach Bowl today at 2:30PM ET from Marlins Park in Miami. The game airs on ESPN.
Doughty is the second-leading passer in the nation, which has led Western Kentucky (11-2, 7-5-1 ATS) to a strong season. Doughty has thrown for 4,594 yards and 45 touchdowns this season. His yardage total is second in the nation while his TD total is tops in the country. He also has the top completion percentage (71.8) and just seven interceptions this season.
Doughty and WKU meet up with South Florida (8-4, 9-2-1 ATS), which has a respectable defense overall, but the Bulls rank just 61st against the pass, allowing 220.6 yards per game through the air. That likely means Doughty is going to have a big game today. He has thrown for 325 yards or more in nine of WKU’s 12 games. He also has at least three touchdown passes in 10 straight games. He has 43 TD passes total in that time.
