Autonation Cure Bowl: Central Florida vs. Arkansas State Predictions 12/17/16

Will Arkansas State cover as the underdog against Central Florida in this evening's Autonation Cure Bowl at 5:30PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Knights are 5.5-point favorites versus the Red Wolves after opening as a 6.5-point favorite. As for the total, the number hit the board at 49 and has been bet up a full point to 50.

CENTRAL FLORIDA KEY TRENDS: The Knights have covered the point spread in seven of their last 10 games and are 4-1 at the betting window in their last five games coming off a loss. They're also 7-1 against the number in their last eight games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game but are just 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games when playing a team with a winning record.

ARKANSAS STATE KEY TRENDS: The Red Wolves are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games when coming off a win and have covered in six of eight games overall. That said, they're winless at the betting window in all six of their last six non-conference games and are 1-4 against the number in their last five games following a failed cover in their previous game.

OUR PREDICTION: The Knights have been one of the best turnaround stories in college football this season. They finished 0-12 last year but after winning six games in the regular season, became bowl eligible under first-year coach Scott Frost. Here's the problem though: UCF doesn't have a win over a team that finished with a winning record. The Red Wolves lost their first four games to start the season but finished hot, winning seven of their last eight, including a 35-3 thumping of then-No. 25 ranked Troy on the road. Arkansas State is allowing just 22.2 points per game this season while Central Florida has struggled to move the ball offensively this season (108th in total yards). I'll take the points.
