Pac-12 Championship Game Free Pick
Stanford will look to beat USC tonight in the Pac-12 Championship Game and then hope its enough to punch a ticket into this year’s college football playoff.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book RealBet.eu, the Cardinal is a 4.5-point favorite over the Trojans after opening as a 4-point favorite. The total currently sits at 58.5 points, down from 60.
Nothing about what Christian McCaffrey and Kevin Hogan did last week in Stanford’s win over Notre Dame was surprising. That duo has been outstanding all year long for the Cardinal, which could still sneak into this year’s playoff if enough crazy things happen in Championship Week.
What was surprising, however, was that Notre Dame was able to rack up 533 total yards and 36 points on Stanford. That’s a trouble signing when you consider that the Trojans boast a three-headed monster in quarterback Cody Kessler, receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and running back Justin Davis, who gained 130 yards on 25 carries for his second straight 100-yard performance.
I see both of these teams giving up plenty of points tonight. The Cardinal has allowed 506, 442, 436, 495 and 533 yards in five of its past seven games. It’s somewhat surprising that the total isn’t higher, and that the number is actually dropping.
