Heisman Trophy Odds
Three finalists have been named for the 2018 Heisman Trophy. Here is a look at the odds to take home this year’s top honor.
According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray is the favorite to win, as he is listed with -160 odds. Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa has odds of +130 to win while Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins is a longshot with +7500 odds to prevail. The Heisman Trophy winner will be announced on Saturday night.
Murray replaced last year’s Heisman winner, Baker Mayfield, and has put up very impressive numbers. Murray threw for 4,053 yards and 40 touchdowns with just seven interceptions while completing 70.9 percent of his passes. Murray also rushed for 892 yards and 11 touchdowns while averaging 7.3 yards per carry. Murray has led the Sooners to the Big 12 championship and a playoff appearance.
Tagovailoa got to start for Alabama this season and played in just first halves for most of the season as the Tide ran over their opponents. He finished the season with 3,353 passing yards and 37 touchdowns with just four interceptions. He completed 67.7 per cent of his passes. Tua also rushed for 190 yards and five touchdowns. He led Bama to an unbeaten season, an SEC Championship and another playoff spot.
Haskins has had a big year for Ohio State, throwing for 4,580 yards and 47 touchdowns with just eight interceptions. He is completing 70.2 percent of his passes and is leading the nation in passing yards. Haskins also has rushed for 122 yards and four touchdowns for the Big Ten champs.
