Tide now 18-point favorites in SEC title game
The point spread for Saturday afternoon’s SEC Championship Game continues to climb in favor of Alabama.
The Crimson Tide and Florida Gators will square off at 4:00PM ET inside the Georgia Dome on Saturday and according to oddsmakers from RealBet.eu, ‘Bama is now an 18-point favorite after opening at -17. As for the total, the number has stayed relatively steady, as it currently sits at 40 points after opening at 40.5.
Public bettors continue to hammer Alabama at the betting window despite the large point spread. The Gators are 1-9-1 against the spread in their last 11 games versus the Tide while the favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings between these two teams. The last time Florida and Alabama met was in September of last year when the Tide pounded the Gators 42-21 as a 14-point favorite. The last time Florida won in this matchup was in 2008, beating the Tide 31-20 as a 10-point favorite.
