UCF Knights Game Notes
Head coach Gus Malzahn said Thursday that John Rhys Plumlee is expected to play in Saturday’s AAC Championship Game against Tulane, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports. Malzahn also said that Plumlee has “practiced every day and he’s practiced well every day. He’s ready to go. I can’t tell you he’s going to be 100 percent but this time of year, I’m not sure who is 100 percent. But he’s going to be ready to go,” per Beede. The senior quarterback exited in Week 13 with an apparent hamstring issue, but he’s now in line to continue serving as the Golden Knights’ starting signal caller in the AAC Championship versus the Green Wave.
Tulane Green Wave Game Notes
Michael Pratt completed 13 of 22 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown and rushed nine times for 30 yards in Friday’s 27-24 win at Cincinnati. Pratt struggled through the air again Friday, marking the fourth time in the past five games he passed for under 170 yards. Pratt accounted for one touchdown, his lowest total since Sept. 24. He added decent numbers on the ground though, marking his third game with over 30 yards in the last four contests. The junior came through when it mattered most, as he found Deuce Watts for a 30-yard score in the fourth quarter to give Tulane the win and hosting rights for the AAC Championship game.
