Utes still hoping for playoff shot
Utah is coming off a 35-7 win at Arizona last weekend for a seventh straight victory. The Utes have won all but one in this streak by at least 18 points. Utah is 10-1 on the season, 7-1 in the Pac-12, 8-3 against the spread and 8-2-1 with the under.
The Utes have been a tremendous defense all season, allowing just 10.9 points and 244 yards per contest. Bradlee Anae is leading the defense with 28 tackles and 11 sacks. Offensively, Utah is putting up 34.7 points and 461 yards per contest. Tyler Huntley has thrown for 2,608 passing yards and 14 touchdowns while also rushing for 228 yards and five scores. Zack Moss is leading the ground attack with 1,158 yards and 14 scores. Brant Kuithe is the leading receiver with 26 catches for 487 yards and four scores.
Buffs looking for the upset
Colorado is riding back-to-back wins heading into this weekend’s game. The Buffaloes are coming off a 20-14 win at home over Washington last weekend. Colorado is 5-6 on the season, 3-5 in the Pac-12, 6-5 against the spread and 6-5 with the under.
The Buffaloes are struggling on both sides of the ball, allowing 30.6 points and 448.7 yards per game. Offensively, Colorado is putting up 24.3 points and 404.1 yards per contest. Steven Montez has thrown for 2,651 yards and 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Alex Fontenot is the leading rusher with 825 yards and five touchdowns while Laviska Shenault Jr. is the leading receiver with 52 catches for 721 yards and four scores.
College Football Betting Trends
Utah
The Utes have covered the spread in four straight at home and in seven straight overall.
Colorado
The Buffaloes are 1-5 against the spread in their last six road games and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 Pac-12 games.
Prediction:
Utah has won five of its last six against Colorado while covering the spread in the last three meetings as well. Since a 7-point loss at USC, Utah has been largely dominant. They have won seven straight, with all but one coming by at least 18 points. Utah is nearing the finish line and it can possibly work its way into the playoff with an impressive win this week and a Pac-12 Championship win next week. I don’t think they are going to take their foot off the gas this week. Colorado has picked up some nice wins in recent weeks, but both were at home. Their last three road games have been losses by at least 17 points against UCLA, Washington State and Oregon.
