Sooners surviving
The Oklahoma Sooners have won three straight, but all by four points or less. The Sooners are coming off a 28-24 win at home over TCU to move to 10-1 on the season and 7-1 in the Big 12. OU is 4-7 against the spread and 5-5-1 with the over/under total.
Oklahoma is one of the top offenses in the nation, averaging 45.3 points and 574.7 yards per game. Defensively, the Sooners are giving up 25.5 points and 337 yards per contest. Jalen Hurts has thrown for 3,184 passing yards and 30 touchdowns while also rushing for 1,156 yards and 17 scores. Kennedy Brooks has added 757 rushing yards and three scores while CeeDee Lamb is the team’s top receiver with 46 catches for 999 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Cowboys continue win streak
Oklahoma State is riding a four-game win streak right now following a 20-13 win at West Virginia last weekend. The Cowboys have improved to 8-3 on the year, 5-3 in the Big 12, 8-2-1 against the spread and 6-5 with the under.
Like usual, Oklahoma State is led by its high-powered offense. The Cowboys are averaging 35 points and 475.6 yards per game. Defensively, Oklahoma State is giving up 26.4 points and 415.2 yards per contest. The team suffered a big loss recently as Spencer Sanders suffered a thumb injury that will bench him for this game. Sanders has thrown for 2,065 yards and 16 touchdowns while rushing for 625 yards and two scores this year. Dru Brown takes over the offense. He has 419 passing yards and five touchdowns this year. Chuba Hubbard is still the offensive leader with 1,832 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns. Tylan Wallace is the leading receiver with 53 catches for 903 yards and eight scores.
College Football Betting Trends
Oklahoma
The Sooners have hit the under in five of their last six road games, but the over in 13 of their last 18 conference games.
Oklahoma State
The Cowboys are 21-8 with the over in their last 29 games in November and 78-37-2 with the over in their last 117 home games.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in four of their last five meetings and I think it can hit this weekend. Both teams have been scoring less than usual in recent weeks, but I think both defenses will allow big plays throughout the game. Oklahoma is going to score. Oklahoma State isn’t good enough to stop the Sooners. The Cowboys have been great at playing to the level of their competition and I think that will raise their offense to pushing for about 40 points this weekend while giving up around the same.
