USF on a slide
South Florida is on a three-game slide right now following a 49-10 loss at home to Memphis last weekend. The Bulls have been held to 17 points or less in four of their last five games. They are now 4-7 on the year, 2-5 against the spread, 6-5 against the spread and 6-4-1 with the under.
The Bulls have struggled offensively most of the season, putting up just 22.1 points and 338.5 yards per contest. Defensively, USF is averaging 28.5 points and 385.2 yards per contest. Jordan McCloud has thrown for 1,313 yards and 12 touchdowns this year while also rushing for 245 yards and four scores. Jordan Cronkrite is the leading rusher with 686 yards and four scores, but he is out for this game with a shoulder injury. Mitchell Wilcox is the team’s leading receiver with 26 catches for 334 yards and five touchdowns.
UCF works past Tulane
Central Florida is coming off a 34-31 win at Tulane last week for its fourth win in five games. The Knights come into this weekend at 8-3 overall, 5-2 in the AAC, 4-7 against the spread and 6-5 with the over.
UCF has one of the best offenses in the nation this year, averaging 43.8 points and 536.4 yards per game. Defensively, the Knights are giving up 24.3 points and 353.5 yards per game. Dillon Gabriel is leading the UCF offense with 3,123 passing yards and 25 touchdowns while Otis Anderson leads the ground attack with 658 yards and five scores. Two others have over 500 yards as well. Gabriel Davis is the team’s top receiver with 64 catches for 1,135 yards and 10 touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
South Florida
The Bulls are 6-14 against the spread in their last 20 conference games and 1-4 ATS in their last five against a winning team.
UCF
The Knights are just 4-9 against the spread in their last 13 games in November and 1-6 ATS in their last seven conference games.
Prediction:
UCF has won the last two in this series, but the Bulls are 3-1 against the spread in the last four encounters. UCF certainly has been winning, but the Knights are struggling to cover. They haven’t been able to get enough stops on defense to hold opponents from covering. I think that won’t be as much of an issue this week. South Florida is beat up and running with a really poor offense. I don’t see the Bulls defense being good enough to slow down this UCF offense, so the Knights should get points. As long as UCF can get stops, it should cover. I think they will get those stops.
College Football Week 14 Prediction: UCF -23.5
