Boise wins fourth straight
The Boise State football team has won four straight since a 28-25 loss at BYU last month. The Broncos are coming off a 56-21 win at Utah State last weekend. Boise State is now 10-1 on the season, 7-0 in the Mountain West, 6-4-1 against the spread and 6-5 with the over.
The Broncos are strong on both sides of the ball, as the defense is giving up just 21.3 points and 347.1 yards per game, and the offense is putting up 37.9 points and 457.5 yards per contest. Hank Bachmeier has led the offense this year with 1,760 passing yards and nine touchdowns, but he has missed recent games with a shoulder injury and is questionable to play this week. Jaylon Henderson has filled in lately and thrown for 567 yards and seven touchdowns this year. George Holani is leading the ground attack with 870 yards and seven touchdowns while John Hightower has 40 catches for 810 yards and seven touchdowns. Curtis Weaver is leading the defense with 44 tackles and 13.5 sacks, but he is also questionable with a foot injury.
Rams drop second straight
Colorado State is coming off back-to-back losses to Air Force and Wyoming over the last two weeks to fall out of bowl contention. The Rams are 4-7 on the season, 3-4 in the Mountain West, 6-5 against the spread and 7-4 with the under.
Colorado State has been average on both sides of the ball. The Rams are giving up 31.2 points and 380.6 yards per game, while the offense is putting up 28.5 points and 442.7 yards per contest. Patrick O’Brien is leading the offense with 2,514 passing yards and 11 touchdowns while Marvin Kinsey Jr. is leading the ground game with 703 yards and six touchdowns. Warren Jackson is the top receiver with 69 catches for 1,035 yards and seven touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Boise State
The Broncos have hit the under in four straight Friday games and in eight of their last 11 conference games.
Colorado State
The Rams have hit the under in nine of their last 10 conference games and in five straight against a winning team.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in two straight meetings and in six of their last eight encounters. Boise hasn’t had a problem scoring in recent years, putting up 115 points in the last two meetings and scoring at least 40 in six of the last eight meetings with the Rams. Despite the loss of Bachmeier, Boise State has been rolling on offense in recent weeks, putting up 98 points over the last two games. The Rams are a team to be feared defensively, so I like Boise to push for another high total. On the road, Boise has given up multiple scores each time, so I think the Rams will be able to do enough to contribute to the over hitting.
College Football Week 14 Prediction: Boise State/Colorado State Over 57.5
