OUR PREDICTION: The stakes are high in this year’s version of the Apple Cup, with the winner clinching the Pac-12 North and advancing to the conference championship game. Washington State eventually wilted against Colorado last Saturday but quarterback Luke Falk was also victim of a couple of critical drops. The Cougars are 7-1 against the spread when playing in a conference revenge spot the last two seasons and Mike Leach is 44-24 straight up and 40-22-1 against the spread off a loss, including 5-1 straight up and 6-0 ATS in the last six said situations. The Huskies have the better defense, but the Cougars have home field and a passing attack that can move the ball against any opponent.
