Washington vs. Wash State Prediction
Will Washington State cover as a home dog today when it takes on in-state rival Washington at 3:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cougars are 6-point home underdogs versus the Huskies while the over/under currently sits at 63.5 points. While the point spread hasn't moved in this game, the total opened at 64 before dropping to 63.5.
WASHINGTON KEY TRENDS: The Huskies are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games overall, all of which have come in conference play. They're also just 1-5 at the betting window in their last six games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous contest and are 0-4 against the number in their last four games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.
WASHINGTON STATE KEY TRENDS: The Cougars have been excellent at home, covering in nine of their last 11 games in Pullman. They're also 9-2 against the spread in their last 11 games versus a team with a winning record and have covered in 15 of their last 21 games overall. Washington State is 12-5 at the betting window in its last 17 conference games as well.
OUR PREDICTION: The stakes are high in this year's version of the Apple Cup, with the winner clinching the Pac-12 North and advancing to the conference championship game. Washington State eventually wilted against Colorado last Saturday but quarterback Luke Falk was also victim of a couple of critical drops. The Cougars are 7-1 against the spread when playing in a conference revenge spot the last two seasons and Mike Leach is 44-24 straight up and 40-22-1 against the spread off a loss, including 5-1 straight up and 6-0 ATS in the last six said situations. The Huskies have the better defense, but the Cougars have home field and a passing attack that can move the ball against any opponent.
