According to the latest oddsmakers, USC is heavily favored at home, as the Trojans are getting odds of -13.5 points against UCLA. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 65.5 points. The public betting currently has 58 percent going on USC as the home favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NCAAF Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
USC returns home
The USC football team is coming off back-to-back road wins over Cal and Arizona State to win four of their last five games. The Trojans are now 7-4 on the season, 6-2 in the Pac-12, 5-5-1 against the spread and 6-5 with the over.
USC has been pretty effective on offense this season, averaging 31.5 points and 445.7 yards per game. Defensively, USC is giving up 27.1 points and 403.9 yards per contest. Kedon Slovis is leading the offense with 2,727 yards and 24 touchdowns passing, while Michael Pittman Jr. has 82 catches for 1,118 yards and nine touchdowns. Vavae Malepeai is the team’s leading rusher with 406 yards and four scores, but he has not been able to playing since Oct. 12 due to a knee injury. He could return to action today.
Bruins dominated by Utah
UCLA had been building up some momentum with a three-game win streak, but that came to a screeching halt last weekend in a 49-3 loss at Utah. The loss dropped UCLA to 4-6 on the season, 4-3 in the Pac-12, 4-5-1 against the spread and 5-4-1 with the under.
The Bruins have struggled all season on defense, allowing 33.7 points and 442 yards per game. Offensively, UCLA is putting up 26.7 points and 392.7 yards per contest. Dorian Thompson-Robinson is leading the offense with 2,056 passing yards and 17 touchdowns while also rushing for 168 yards and three scores. Joshua Kelley is the team’s leading rusher with 939 yards and 10 touchdowns, while Kyle Philips is the leading receiver with 43 catches for 490 yards and five touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
The Trojans are 9-4-2 against the spread in their last 15 games in November, but 20-42-1 ATS in their last 63 games following a win.
The Bruins 6-2-2 against the spread in their last 10 conference games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games on grass.
UCLA has managed to cover in its last two years against USC, even picking up a 34-27 win at home last season. Despite the throttling it took last week, UCLA had been playing well recently. USC is coming off some nice road wins as well and have been able to beat their last four opponents not named Oregon. As well as the Bruins have been doing as of late, I think USC is pretty locked in on offense and that should continue at home. UCLA will find some scores as well, but I don’t see the Bruins keeping pace on the road with their rival.
College Football Week 13 Prediction: USC -13.5
