Cincinnati edges USF
The Cincinnati Bearcats are coming off a 20-17 win at USF last weekend to extend their win streak to eight games. Two of their last three wins have been by three points. Cincinnati is now 9-1 on the year, 6-0 in the AAC, 6-4 against the spread and 7-3 with the under.
The Bearcats have been led by their defense this year, allowing just 20.6 points and 370.7 yards per game. Offensively, Cincinnati is putting up 31.4 points and 393.4 yards per contest. Desmond Ridder has thrown for 1,774 yards and 17 touchdowns this year, while also rushing for 435 yards. Michael Warren II is the team’s leading rusher with 833 yards and 10 touchdowns while Josiah Deguara is the leading receiver with 30 catches for 424 yards and seven scores.
Temple seeks third straight win
The Temple Owls had suffered back-to-back losses to SMU and UCF last month, but they have since rebounded with wins over South Florida and Tulane in recent weeks. Temple is 7-3 on the season, 4-2 in the AAC, 6-4 against the spread and 5-5 with the over/under total.
Temple is average on both sides of the ball this year. The Owls are giving up just 25 points and 384.4 yards per game on defense, while the offense is putting up 26.7 points and 394.7 yards per contest. Anthony Russo has thrown for 2,258 yards and 18 touchdowns to lead the offense this year while Re’Mahn Davis is the leading rusher with 724 yards and five scores. Jadan Blue is the team’s top receiver with 67 catches for 803 yards and three touchdowns. Quincy Roche is having a nice year on the defense, posting 35 tackles and 9.5 sacks.
College Football Betting Trends
The Bearcats are 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games, but just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games in November.
The Owls are 12-3 against the spread in their last 15 games in November and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games on fieldturf.
Temple has had Cincinnati’s number over recent years, winning and covering the spread in four straight against the Bearcats. The Owls aren’t a team that struggles with other defensive teams. Temple has the physicality to match most teams that like to grind out possessions. The Owls have struggled with good offensive teams like SMU and UCF. Cincinnati has shown glimpses of being a good offense, but typically have pretty low-scoring games. I think this game is going to be a grind for both and points are going to be hard to come by. That favors Temple covering today. The Owls will make enough plays on defense to keep this close and within 10 points.
College Football Week 13 Prediction: Temple +10.5
