Kansas vs. Texas Spread Prediction
The Kansas Jayhawks just announced that Les Miles will become their next head coach so it’s been an eventual week in Lawrence. Can the Jayhawks cap the weekend off with a cover against the visiting Texas Longhorns at 12:00 p.m. ET?

Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Longhorns are 15-point favorites to beat the Jayhawks. The total, meanwhile, sits at 49 points. As of this writing, 63% of the public betting tickets wagered on this matchup are on the Longhorns.
Texas Longhorns
Texas HC Tom Herman expects sophomore QB Sam Ehlinger (shoulder) to play against Kansas on Friday. Ehlinger returned to practice as a full participant on Wednesday. He increased his workload to 40 throws during Texas’ last practice before traveling to Lawrence on Thanksgiving Day. Expect to see him out there with the starting lineup Friday.
Kansas Jayhawks
Kansas has hired Les Miles as head coach. Kansas University athletic director Jeff Long took to Twitter to make the announcement, listing Miles’ experience as a head coach and strong recruiting reputation as reasons why the Jayhawks went in his direction. While Les Miles does bring a big name to the Kansas football program, there are concerns about his ability to adjust to the Big 12, especially with much weaker recruits than he was used to at LSU. Miles has reportedly agreed to a five-year contract worth $2,275,000 annually, with additional retention bonuses due in 2020 and 2022. Miles said, “We will bring Jayhawk football back.” Let’s see who he can bring on to his coaching staff.
Betting Trends
Texas
The Longhorns are 0-5 against the spread in their last five games played on Friday.
Kansas
The Jayhawks are 4-1 against the spread int their last five games coming off a straight up loss.
Prediction
Texas needs this game to keep its Big 12 title hopes alive but that could also lead to the Longhorns playing tight. The Jayhawks have nothing to lose and one would expect that motivation would be high with them playing spoiler at home. Kansas is 7-3 against the spread in its last 11 games played in November while Texas is just 2-7-1 ATS in its last 10 games after allowing fewer than 275 total yards in its previous game. I like the Jayhawks to keep it close.
