Auburn vs. Alabama Pick
Will the Iron Bowl between Auburn and Alabama this year be low-scoring on Saturday at 3:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Crimson Tide is now a 17-point home favorite versus the Tigers after opening as a 20-point favorite. As for the total, the number opened at 47.5 before being bet down a half-point to 45.
Auburn rebounded from its first loss in over a month (13-7 at Georgia) to shutout AAMU 55-0 last Saturday. The Tigers improved their record to 8-3 on the year and 8-3 against the spread, although they have failed to cover in two of their last three games. They're 2-1 at the betting window on the road this season, covering at Mississippi State as a 4-point favorite and at Ole Miss as a 4-point favorite before losing outright to Georgia as a 10-point favorite.
Alabama failed to cover as a 47.5-point home favorite last Saturday versus Chattanooga, winning 31-3. The Crimson Tide remain perfect on the year at 11-0 and is 8-3 against the spread, with successful covers in five of its last six games. Nick Saban's squad has also fared well at the betting window at home this season, covering in five of its last seven games in Tuscaloosa.
OUR PREDICTION: This should be a tough, physical, knock-down, drag-out fight between two of the biggest rivals in the nation. The under is 4-1 in the Tigers' last five road games, is 12-3-2 in their last 17 games versus an opponent with a winning record, and has cashed in 12 of their last 17 games overall. The under is also 5-1 in the Crimson Tide's last six home games, is 5-2 in their last seven games in November, and is 10-2 in their last 12 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game. Expect this to be a defensive struggle throughout.
