Kentucky vs. Louisville Total Pick

Kentucky Wildcats vs. Louisville Cardinals, 11/22/18 Predictions & Odds

The Louisville Cardinals have had an awful season, one in which that saw their head coach get fired. But they should get up for rival Kentucky on Saturday. Will this year’s Wildcats- Cardinals game turn into a defensive struggle at 7:00 p.m. ET?

Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers from online sports book, the Wildcats are 17-point favorites to beat the Cardinals. The total, meanwhile, sits at 52 points. As of this writing, 75% of the public betting tickets wagered on this matchup are on the Wildcats.

Kentucky Wildcats

Kentucky redshirt sophomore QB Terry Wilson completed 10-of-14 passes for 121 yards with a touchdown in a 34-23 victory over Middle Tennessee on Saturday. Wilson also added 27 yards on the ground. Once again, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound quarterback wasn't asked to do much, and once again, he didn't. He was able to find C.J. Conrad for a score, but the Wildcats relied on the ground game -- as they have all year -- and it was good enough against the MTSU defense. Wilson will look to give Kentucky a nine-win regular season if they can beat Louisville next Saturday.

Louisville Cardinals

Louisville redshirt sophomore QB Jawon Pass completed 5-of-11 passes for 67 yards and an interception in Saturday's 52-10 loss to NC State. Pass (6'4/231) was suspended for the first quarter, but he actually didn't enter until the second half with Louisville already down 24-3. The redshirt sophomore has had little success all year, and today was no different. Despite playing in garbage time, Pass only averaged 6.1 yards per pass attempt and his lone interception got him benched in the 4th. It's unclear if the starting job will be Malik Cunningham's or Jawon Pass' when Lousiville next takes the field against Kentucky's solid defense.

Betting Trends

The under is 4-0 in the Wildcats’ last four games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game.

The over is 6-1 in the Cardinals’ last seven games overall and 6-1 in their last seven games coming off a loss.

If Kentucky’s defense shows up for this one, I don’t see how Louisville scores enough to contribute to the over. The under is 4-1 in the Cardinals’ last five non-conference games, is 4-1 in their last five home games versus a team with a winning road record and is 5-0 in their last five games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous contest. The under is also 6-2 in the Wildcats’ last eight games and 7-1 in their last eight games coming off a failed cover.
