Utah keeps rolling
The Utah Utes won their sixth straight games last weekend, a 49-3 win over UCLA at home. The Utes are now 9-1 on the season, 6-1 in the Pac-12, 7-3 against the spread and 7-2-1 with the under.
Utah has been led by its defense this year. The Utes are giving up just 11.3 points and 248.8 yards per game. The unit is being led by Bradlee Anae, who has 21 tackles with 10 sacks. Offensively, Utah is putting up 34.7 points and 455.4 yards per outing. Tyler Huntley is leading the way with 2,397 passing yards and 13 touchdowns while rushing for 221 yards and five scores. Zack Moss is the team’s leading rusher with 955 yards and 13 touchdowns while Bryan Thompson is the leading receiver with 17 catches for 452 yards and three touchdowns.
Arizona looking for a spark
The Arizona Wildcats need any positive momentum right now, as they have lost five straight after a 34-6 drubbing at the hands of Oregon last weekend. The Wildcats are now just 4-6 on the year, 2-5 in the Pac-12, 2-7-1 against the spread and 6-4 with the over.
Arizona has been a mess on defense this season, giving up 37 points and 480.8 yards per game, which includes 314 passing yards per contest. Offensively, Arizona is putting up 30.2 points and 470.2 yards per game. The Cats have turned to two quarterbacks to run the offense. Khalil Tate and Grant Gunnell have combined for 2,830 passing yards and 21 touchdowns. Tate has added 331 rushing yards and three touchdowns. J.J. Taylor is the team’s leading rusher with 640 yards and five scores while Jamarye Joiner is the leading receiver with 26 catches for 391 yards and three touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Utah
The Utes are 7-1-1 with the under in their last nine conference games and 5-1 with the under in their last six road games.
Arizona
The Wildcats are 6-2 with the over in their last eight games against a winning team and 5-2 with the over in their last seven home games.
Prediction:
These two have hit the under in five of their last seven meetings. The total is being set pretty high for a game involving Utah. The Utes have been pretty dominant on the defensive side of the ball. Four of their last five opponents have been held to 7 points or less. While the Arizona defense is terrible, Utah isn’t typically an offense that is going to put up a monster number up on offense. The Utes tend to top out around 35 points. I just don’t see Arizona being able to find three-four touchdowns on this Utah defense, even at home.
