Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Ducks are 17.5-point favorites to beat the Beavers. The total, meanwhile, sits at 69 points. As of this writing, 67% of the public betting tickets wagered on this matchup are on the Ducks.
NFL Draft Scout's Steve Fairchild believes that Oregon junior QB Justin Herbert offers "big" upside as an NFL quarterback. Fairchild gives a nice scouting report on the Oregon gunslinger, noting in his pros that Herbert (6'6/233) has a strong, accurate arm, and when he sits his feet, he delivers a very catchable ball. He does not some negatives, however. "He does not display a lot of throws where he works a progression, rather he locks on to primary throws or half-field reads," Fairchild writes. "His accuracy diminishes when he has to throw off platform or with radical pocket movement." The overall takeaways here are positive, but there are concerns here that suggest that Herbert may not be a sure thing. Not yet, anyway.
Oregon State Beavers
Oregon State redshirt senior QB Conor Blount (concussion) has passed concussion protocol tests and will practice this week as the team prepares for its November 10 game against Stanford. Oregon State HC Jonathan Smith said Monday that Blount cleared concussion protocol ahead of the team's Nov. 3 game against USC and would have been available if needed. With the redshirt senior given a clean bill of health, Oregon State has a decision to make regarding the spot on the depth chart behind starter Jake Luton. Jack Colletto, Oregon State's most mobile quarterback, started the Oct. 27 win over Colorado and served as Luton's backup in the loss to USC.
The over is 51-18-2 in the Ducks’ last 71 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game.
The over is 6-1 in the Beavers’ last seven games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game.
The over has been a fantastic play in this series, cashing in 13 of the previous 16 meetings. The over is also 12-3 in the Beavers’ last 15 games overall, is 9-3 in their last 12 conference matchups and is 10-2 in their last 12 games coming off a loss. On the other side, the over is also 6-1 in the Ducks’ last seven games played on Friday.
