Public Betting Trends

According to the latest oddsmakers, Michigan is favored on the road, as the Wolverines are getting odds of -9 points against Indiana. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 53 points. The public betting currently has 71 percent going on Michigan as the road favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NCAAF Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Michigan on a hot streak

Michigan appeared to turn the corner last month with a strong second half at Penn State and that has carried over to three straight wins of 30 points or more, including a 44-10 win over Michigan State last weekend. The Wolverines are now 8-2 on the season, 5-2 in the Big Ten, 6-4 against the spread and 7-3 with the over.

The Wolverines are one of the stronger defensive teams in the nation, allowing just 16.4 points and 262.9 yards per game. Josh Uche is leading the defense with 28 tackles and 7.5 sacks. Offensively, Michigan is slowly working up the rankings and now averages 33 points and 398.3 yards per game. Shea Patterson is leading the offense with 2,157 passing yards and 16 touchdowns. His top receiver is Ronnie Bell, who has 36 catches for 610 yards. However, Bell is dealing with an upper body injury that has him questionable to play this weekend. Zach Charbonnet is the team’s leading rusher with 589 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Indiana ends win streak

The Indiana Hoosiers are coming off a 34-27 loss at Penn State last weekend, putting an end to a four-game win streak. Indiana is now 7-3 on the season, 4-3 in the Big Ten, 7-3 against the spread and 5-5 with the over/under total.

Indiana has been pretty solid on both sides of the ball this year. The defense is giving up only 21.4 points and 316.6 yards per game, while the offense is putting up 33.3 points and 448.5 yards per contest. Peyton Ramsey has thrown for 1,673 yards and 10 touchdowns in limited starts this year while also rushing for 153 yards and three scores. Stevie Scott III is the team’s leading rusher with 791 yards and nine touchdowns while Whop Philyor is the top receiver with 61 catches for 863 yards and three touchdowns. Philyor is questionable to play on Saturday due to a head injury.

College Football Betting Trends

The Wolverines have hit the over in six of their last eight conference games and in 13 of their last 17 games on fieldturf.

The Hoosiers are 10-4 with the over in their last 14 conference games and in five straight home games against a team with a winning road record.

These two have hit the over in their last three meetings at Indiana. The Wolverines have been locked in lately, really dominating opponents, but this is a decent Indiana team that can’t be overlooked. Indiana is coming off a strong showing at Penn State where is lost by just seven and scored 27 points on a good defense. With Michigan facing Ohio State next week, I think the Wolverines could possibly get caught looking ahead this week. Indiana is going to come out and swing for the fences, which I think should lead to some points. Michigan’s offense is clicking right now, so I would expect the Wolverines to be able to continue to score as well. I like the over in this one, as Indiana has proven it can go toe-to-toe with the Big Ten.
