Penn State falls to Minnesota
The Nittany Lions took their first loss of the season last weekend at Minnesota, 31-26. The loss moves Penn State to 8-1 on the season and 5-1 in the Big Ten. The Nittany Lions are 5-4 against the spread and 5-4 with the under.
Despite giving up 31 last week, Penn State’s defense has been one of the best in the nation this year. PSU is giving up just 12 points and 300.4 yards per game. On offense, Penn State is averaging 37.1 points and 434.8 yards per contest. Sean Clifford is leading the team with 2,271 passing yards and 21 touchdowns while also rushing for 319 yards and three scores. KJ Hamler is the leading receiver with 44 catches for 739 yards and eight touchdowns. Journey Brown is the leading rusher with 421 yards and five touchdowns.
Indiana having a strong year
Indiana is on a four-game winning streak coming into this game. The Hoosiers are coming off a 34-3 win at home over Northwestern two weeks ago. They are now 7-2 on the season, 4-2 in the Big Ten, 6-3 against the spread and 5-4 with the under.
The Hoosiers have actually been pretty strong on both sides of the ball this year. Indiana is giving up just 20 points and 310.6 yards per game on defense, while the offense is putting up 34 points and 447 yards per game. Peyton Ramsey has filled in at QB for the injured Michael Penix Jr. and has thrown for 1,302 yards and nine touchdowns this year. Stevie Scott III is the team’s leading rusher with 737 yards and nine scores. Whop Philyor is the team’s leading receiver with 59 catches for 813 yards and three touchdowns.

Penn State
The Nittany Lions have covered in six straight games following a failed cover, but just 2-12-2 ATS in their last 16 games following a loss.
Indiana
The Hoosiers are 5-1 against the spread in their last six overall and 6-2 ATS in their last eight following a win.
Prediction:
Penn State has won five straight in this series while going 3-1-1 against the spread. The Nittany Lions are going to be a little upset at home and Indiana is coming in with a lot of false bravado. The Hoosiers have a nice record, but their collection of wins isn’t very impressive. The only respectable teams they have played this year have led to losses. They were soundly beaten by Ohio State at home, 51-10, and lost to a struggling Michigan State team on the road, 40-31. I think Penn State’s defense will be a rude awakening for them while the Penn State offense shouldn’t have much trouble moving the ball against this team.
