Bulldogs grab a win
Mississippi State is coming off a 54-24 win over Arkansas on the road two weeks ago to put an end to a four-game losing streak. Mississippi State is now 4-5 on the season, 2-4 in the SEC, 3-6 against the spread and 6-3 with the over.
The Bulldogs have been average on offense and defense this year. The defense is giving up 30.2 points and 389.4 yards per game while the offense is putting up 28.7 points and 407.8 yards per outing. Kylin Hill is leading the offense with 1,027 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. Garrett Shrader has thrown for 1,022 yards and seven scores while rushing for 504 yards and three touchdowns. Tommy Stevens has also been seeing action under center. He has 687 passing yards and seven scores. Osirus Mitchell is the leading receiver with 26 catches for 377 yards and five touchdowns.
Bama edged by LSU at home
Alabama had its unbeaten season come to an end last weekend in a 46-41 loss at home to LSU. The Tide are now 8-1 on the year, 5-1 in the SEC, 4-5 against the spread and 5-4 with the over.
The Alabama defense has been strong this year, but not the usual dominant unit we have grown to expect. The Tide are giving up 18.7 points and 335.8 yards per game this year. Offensively, Bama has been great. The Tide are averaging 47.8 points and 510.7 yards per game. Tua Tagovailoa has thrown for 2,584 passing yards and 31 touchdowns while rushing for a pair of scores as well. He is listed as a game-time decision today due to his ankle injury. Najee Harris is the team’s leading rusher with 788 yards and six touchdowns while Devonta Smith is the leading receiver with 50 catches for 934 yards and 11 touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Mississippi State
The Bulldogs are 9-3 against the spread in their last 12 home games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games in November.
Alabama
The Crimson Tide are 2-5 against the spread in their last seven conference games and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games against a losing team.
Prediction:
Along with a long win streak over Mississippi State, Alabama has also covered in three of the last four against the Bulldogs. With or without Tua, I expect a fired up Bama team to hit the field today. Nick Saban won’t let them live down a loss at home to a rival. The Bama defense should lock up Mississippi State and the Bama offensive line will control the line of scrimmage and all the offense to do whatever it wants.
College Football Week 12 Prediction: Alabama -17.5
