Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, Clemson is favored at home, as the Tigers are getting odds of -28.5 points against Duke. The over/under total for the contest is currently listed at 57.5 points. The public betting for this game currently has 51 percent going on Clemson at home.

Duke wins back-to-back

The Duke football team has won back-to-back games following a 20-12 win at Miami and a 42-35 win over North Carolina at home over the last two weeks. The Blue Devils are now 7-3 overall and 3-3 in the ACC. Duke is 5-5 against the spread and 5-5 with the over/under total. The Blue Devils are just 1-3 against the spread in their last four games.

Duke is usually known for defense, but the Blue Devils are giving up 405.7 yards per game. However, they are only allowing 23.5 points per contest. Offensively, Duke is putting up 31.5 points and 419.8 yards per game. Quarterback Daniel Jones has thrown for 1,948 yards and 16 touchdowns to lead the offense while Deon Jackson has rushed for 725 yards and seven scores. Johnathan Lloyd has caught 42 passes for 545 yards and five touchdowns.

Clemson runs over Boston College

Clemson is coming off a 27-7 win at Boston College last week for its fifth straight win by at least 20 points. The Tigers are now 10-0 overall and 7-0 in the ACC. They are 6-4 against the spread and 5-5 with the over/under total. Clemson has covered the spread in five straight games.

The Tigers are dominant on defense this year, allowing just 12.7 points and 253.6 yards per contest. Their run defense is giving up just 82.3 yards per contest. Offensively, Clemson is putting up 45.7 points and 526.6 yards per game. Their run game amasses over 250 yards per game. Travis Etienne is leading the way with 1,076 yards and 15 touchdowns. Trevor Lawrence has thrown for 1,844 yards and 19 touchdowns with just four interceptions while Tee Higgins is the leading receiver with 39 catches for 577 yards and seven scores.

College Football Betting Trends

Duke

Duke is 6-1 against the spread in its last seven road games, but just 2-5 ATS in their last seven games on grass.

Clemson

Clemson has covered the spread in four straight against winning teams and the Tigers are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games against a team with a winning road record.

Prediction:

Clemson continues to prove it is in a class of its own in the ACC. The Tigers easily handled Boston College on the road last week, winning 27-7 with the lone points coming off a punt return. The Clemson defense has held its last five opponents to 16 points or less and I don’t think Duke is going to have any new challenges to pose. The Duke defense isn’t terribly strong either, so I expect Clemson’s offense to run right over them.

College Football Prediction: Clemson -28.5
