Tide bested by LSU
Alabama had its unbeaten season come to an end last weekend in a 46-41 loss at home to LSU. The Tide are now 8-1 on the year, 5-1 in the SEC, 4-5 against the spread and 5-4 with the over.
The Alabama defense has been strong this year, but not the usual dominant unit we have grown to expect. The Tide are giving up 18.7 points and 335.8 yards per game this year. Offensively, Bama has been great. The Tide are averaging 47.8 points and 510.7 yards per game. Tua Tagovailoa has thrown for 2,584 passing yards and 31 touchdowns while rushing for a pair of scores as well. Najee Harris is the team’s leading rusher with 788 yards and six touchdowns while Devonta Smith is the leading receiver with 50 catches for 934 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Bulldogs end losing skid
Mississippi State is coming off a 54-24 win over Arkansas on the road two weeks ago to put an end to a four-game losing streak. Mississippi State is now 4-5 on the season, 2-4 in the SEC, 3-6 against the spread and 6-3 with the over.
The Bulldogs have been average on offense and defense this year. The defense is giving up 30.2 points and 389.4 yards per game while the offense is putting up 28.7 points and 407.8 yards per outing. Kylin Hill is leading the offense with 1,027 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. Garrett Shrader has thrown for 1,022 yards and seven scores while rushing for 504 yards and three touchdowns. Tommy Stevens has also been seeing action under center. He has 687 passing yards and seven scores. Osirus Mitchell is the leading receiver with 26 catches for 377 yards and five touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Alabama
The Crimson Tide are 4-1-1 with the over in their last six road games and 5-2-1 with the over in their last eight conference games.
Mississippi State
The Bulldogs have hit the over in four straight games following a win and in seven of their last 10 overall.
Prediction:
These two have hit the under in four of their last six meetings and are 7-2-1 with the under in their last 10 encounters. Alabama is coming off a loss at home, so its sure to be a long week for the players under Nick Saban. I would expect the Bama offense to completely have its way with Mississippi State. The big question is, will the Alabama defense continue to give up points, even against an average Mississippi State offense. The Bulldogs had just 13 at home against LSU, and I could see them struggling against an angry Bama defense.
College Football Week 12 Prediction: Alabama/Mississippi State Under 62.5
