West Virginia vs. Texas Prediction
Is the wrong team favored in today’s West Virginia and Texas matchup at 12:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Longhorns are 2-point home favorites versus the Mountaineers while the over/under currently sits at 64 points. While the total hasn’t moved off the original number posted by oddsmakers, Texas has gone from -1.5 up to -2.

WEST VIRGINIA KEY TRENDS: The Mountaineers are struggling at the betting window, going just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games overall. They’re also just 1-4 against the number in their last five road games but have thrived when they’re a small underdog. When West Virginia is a dog of between 0.5 and 3 points, the Mountaineers are 5-0 against the spread both overall and on the road.
TEXAS KEY TRENDS: The Longhorns have now covered in four of their last five games after beating Baylor and Texas Tech in consecutive weeks. They’re also 4-1 against the spread in their last five games as a home favorite and are 4-1 at the betting window in their last five conference games. Charlie Strong’s team has also thrived at home, winning all four times at the betting window in their last four games in Austin.

OUR PREDICTION: The Longhorns have revitalized their play thanks in large part to running back D’Onta Foreman, who leads the team with 1,446 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. But the Longhorns are still having issues defensively, which will be a problem today against Skyler Howard and West Virginia’s explosive offense. The Mountaineers rank 10th in the nation in total yards per game at 510.8, are 26th in passing yards (287.1), 28th in rushing yards (223.6), and are averaging 33.2 points per game. I’ll take the dog with the better defense.
