Broncos atop MAC West
With a 35-31 win at home over Ball State last week, Western Michigan improved to 6-4 on the season and 4-2 in the MAC West. The Broncos are tied with Central Michigan for first, but own the tiebreaker. WMU is 5-5 against the spread and 6-3-1 with the under.
Western Michigan has a really strong offense this year that is putting up 35.9 points and 466.2 yards per game. Defensively, the Broncos are allowing 26.3 points and 428.4 yards per contest. WMU is being led by LeVante Bellamy, who has rushed for 1,212 yards and 20 touchdowns. Jon Wassink has thrown for 2,397 yards and 16 touchdowns with seven interceptions. He also has rushed for 250 yards and three scores. Giovanni Ricci is the team’s leading receiver with 41 catches for 584 yards and six touchdowns.
Ohio loses control of MAC East
Ohio suffered a 24-21 loss last week at home to Miami (Ohio), ending a two-game win streak. The Bobcats are now 4-5 on the season and 3-2 in the MAC East. They are a game behind Miami in the conference standings. The Bobcats are 2-7 against the spread and 5-4 with the under.
The Bobcats are not special on either sides of the ball. Ohio is putting up 29.3 points and 407.4 yards per game. Defensively, Ohio is giving up 28.9 points and 427.9 yards per contest. The team is being led by Nathan Rourke, who has thrown for 1,876 yards and 11 touchdowns while rushing for 625 yards and 10 scores. O’Shaan Allison and De’Montre Tuggle have added nearly 900 rushing yards and nine scores. Isiah Cox is the team’s leading receiver with 26 catches for 442 yards and a score.
College Football Betting Trends
Western Michigan
The Broncos have hit the over in five straight Tuesday games and in 10 of their last 11 road games against a team with a losing home record.
Ohio
The Bobcats are 4-1 with the over in their last five games following a loss, but 19-9-3 with the under in their last 31 conference games.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in five of their last six encounters. Until last year’s 59-14 win for Ohio, Western Michigan has had good success against Ohio, especially on offense. The Broncos have averaged 35 points per game over their last five against the Bobcats. They haven’t done well on the road this year, but that is due to the defense. WMU has still put up at least 24 points in their last three road games this season. The defensive woes for the Broncos should carry over at Ohio today, allowing the Bobcats to have a boost in scoring. I think this game could be similar to WMU’s 35-31 win last week, which will allow the over to hit.
