Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Bulldogs are 13.5-point favorites to beat the Tigers. The total, meanwhile, sits at 52.5 points. As of this writing, 56% of the public betting tickets wagered on this matchup are on the Bulldogs.
Auburn redshirt junior QB Jarrett Stidham completed 18-of-29 passes for 239 yards with two touchdowns in a 28-24 victory over Texas A&M on Saturday. Stidham struggled for a very large portion of this game, both with accuracy and with handling the Aggies' pass rush. The final five-plus minutes of the game, however, were excellent, and Stidham had the game-winning throw on an 11-yard lob to Seth Williams with just under two minutes left. It hasn't been a great season for the redshirt junior, but all things considered, this one was a pretty decent effort. A tougher test comes next Saturday against Georgia.
Georgia sophomore QB Jake Fromm (leg) practiced with a wrap on his right leg on Tuesday. Fromm likewise practiced with a wrap on that right leg on Monday. Marc Weiszer of the Anthens Banner-Herald passes along that the sophomore quarterback did appear to be limping very slightly on Tuesday, but this is not believed to be a serious injury. Fromm sustained the minor injury in Saturday's win over Kentucky. There have been no indications that the quarterback will be in danger of missing this coming weekend's game against Auburn, but Justin Fields will be waiting in the wings if needed.
The Tigers are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games played in November and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games versus a team with a winning record.
The Bulldogs are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven home games and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games overall.
Auburn is 13th in points allowed defensively and while UGA has scored at least 34 points in its wins this year, I see the Dawgs getting challenged tonight. The Tigers have been massively disappointing this season but they’re not so bad that they should be catching nearly two touchdowns in a conference game against anyone that isn’t Alabama. Auburn should play with some swagger too after coming from behind to beat A&M.
College Football Prediction: Auburn Tigers +13.5
