Georgia outlasts Florida
Georgia is coming off a hard-fought win over Florida in Jacksonville last weekend for a second straight victory since losing to South Carolina at home. The Bulldogs are now 7-1 on the season, 4-1 in the SEC, 4-4 against the spread and 6-2 with the under.
The Bulldogs remain one of the top defensive teams in the nation this year, allowing just 11.4 points and 268.5 yards per game. Offensively, Georgia is putting up 34.5 points and 463.5 yards per game. Jake Fromm is leading the team with 1,685 passing yards and 11 touchdowns while D’Andre Swift has rushed for 838 yards and seven scores. Lawrence Cager is the leading receiver with just 26 catches for 377 yards and four scores.
Missouri looks to extend win streak
The Missouri football team is coming off back-to-back road losses to Vanderbilt and Kentucky. The Tigers are now 5-3 on the season, 2-2 in the SEC, 4-4 against the spread and 6-2 with the under.
Missouri has pretty solid defense. The Tigers are giving up just 18.1 points and 281.4 yards per contest. Nick Bolton is leading the defense with 66 tackles and two interceptions. Offensively, Mizzou is putting up 31.8 points and 428.5 yards per contest. Kelly Bryant is leading the team with 1,845 yards passing and 14 touchdowns while also rushing for 205 yards. He is dealing with a hamstring injury that has him questionable to play today. Latest reports have Bryant not getting the start. Taylor Powell is the only other QB with playing time this year. He has 108 passing yards on 26 attempts. Larry Rountree III is the team’s leading rusher with 644 yards and eight scores. Jonathan Nance is the leading receiver with 19 catches for 307 yards and three touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Georgia
The Bulldogs are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games in November, but just 1-5 ATS in their last six home games.
Missouri
The Tigers are 7-2 against the spread in their last nine games in November and 6-2 ATS in their last eight against a winning team.
Prediction:
Georgia has won five straight against Missouri, but the Tigers have actually covered the spread in four straight meetings. The Tigers have been a problem for the Bulldogs, and if Bryant were expected to go today, I think I would side with Missouri. However, if the early reports are true, I think Missouri is really in for a rough day. The Georgia defense is solid and the Missouri offense is going to struggle with a backup QB on the road against the Bulldogs. Georgia’s offense isn’t lighting the world on fire, but they can possess the ball and keep Missouri’s offense off the field for long stretches.
