TCU back to .500
The TCU Horned Frogs are coming off a 34-27 loss at Oklahoma State last week, a week after beating Texas. The Frogs have now lost three of their last four games to drop to 4-4 on the season and 2-3 in the Big 12. They are 3-5 against the spread and 5-3 with the over.
TCU has some pretty respectable numbers on offense and defense. The TCU offense is averaging 33.4 points and 441.8 yards per game, while the defense is giving up 26.1 points and 326.2 yards per contest. Max Duggan has thrown for 1,405 yards and 12 touchdowns this season to lead the offense. He also has rushed for 319 yards and four touchdowns. Darius Anderson is the team’s leading rusher with 667 yards and six touchdowns, while Jalen Reagor is the leading receiver with 32 catches for 454 yards and four scores. Reagor is questionable to play this afternoon due to a back injury. Trevon Moehrig is leading the defense with 41 tackles and four interceptions.
Baylor stays unbeaten
The Baylor Bears are now a perfect 8-0 following a 17-14 win at home over West Virginia a week ago. Baylor is 5-0 in the Big 12, 4-4 against the spread and 4-4 with the over/under total.
Baylor has been pretty solid on both sides of the ball this year as well, but their defense has been a big surprise. The Bears are giving up just 18.5 points and 341.1 yards per game this season. The offense is putting up 36.1 points and 480.2 yards per contest. Charlie Brewer has thrown for 2,143 yards and 14 touchdowns to lead the offense while Denzel Mims has 38 catches for 618 yards and six scores. Mims comes into this game questionable due to an upper body injury. John Lovett is the team’s leading rusher with 495 yards and four touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
TCU
The Horned Frogs are just 7-20 against the spread in their last 27 home games and 4-12 ATS in their last 16 conference games.
Baylor
The Bears have covered the spread in six straight games following a failed cover and are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games.
Prediction:
TCU has won four straight in this series while going 6-1 against the spread in the last seven against the Bears. While Baylor has the unbeaten record, I think it comes to an end in this one. The Horned Frogs have performed well at home this year, easily covering against Texas and Kansas in their two conference home games. Baylor has also played well in its road games, but I think TCU is a tougher matchup than Oklahoma State and Kansas State. The Horned Frogs are going to make this a physical test for Baylor and it can ware on them after three quarters. The Bears have consistently struggled with TCU and I think oddsmakers want you to jump on unbeaten Baylor as such a small favorite against a .500 TCU team.
