Florida Gators Game Notes

Florida HC Dan Mullen has been reprimanded by the Southeastern Conference and fined $25,000 for his actions following Saturday's win over Missouri. Florida's blowout win in the team's first game since October 10 due to a COVID-19 outbreak within the program was marred by a bench-clearing brawl that took place just before halftime. What exactly Mullen, who was seen firing up the crowd while heading back to the locker room, did after the game was not stated in the release issued by the SEC. In addition to being lighter in the wallet Mullen will be down two players for the first half of Saturday's game against Georgia, as DL Zach Carter and LB Antwaun Powell were both ejected for fighting. Should either get in another fight, they would be done for the remainder of the season.

Georgia Bulldogs Game Notes

Georgia redshirt junior QB Stetson Bennett completed 9-of-13 passes for 131 yards with two interceptions while rushing for 31 yards with a touchdown in a 14-3 win over Kentucky on Saturday. The 10.1 YPA is nice, as is the completion percentage. Those numbers probably are not indicative of how Bennett (5'11/190) played on Saturday. That being said, with Georgia's defense dominating the contest, all Bennett had to do was not screw things up too badly, and despite two picks, he did just that. It's a win for the Bulldogs, but it won't answer the questions in Athens as to whether JT Daniels or D'Wan Mathis should be lining up under center. Expect Bennett to remain the starter next week for a huge game against rival Florida.

Florida vs. Georgia Betting Prediction

The favorite is a perfect 5-0 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams while Georgia is 9-1 against the number in its last 10 neutral site games when favored. The Bulldogs are also 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games when favored, are 14-5 against the number in their last 19 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game and have covered in five of their last six games played in November. On the other side, the Gators are just 1-6 against the spread in their last seven neutral site games and have failed to cover in six of their last seven neutral site games as a dog.
