Louisville getting annihilated
Louisville has looked completely lost on the football field this season. The Cardinals are coming off a 77-16 loss at Clemson this past weekend for a six-game losing streak. All but one loss has been by at least 18 points. The Cardinals are 2-7 overall, 0-6 in the ACC, 1-8 against the spread and 6-3 with the over. Louisville has hit the over in five straight.
The Cardinals have really been a mess on defense, allowing 40.8 points and 462.8 yards per contest. Their run defense is giving up 277.4 yards per game. Offensively, Louisville is putting up 21.6 points and 344.7 yards per contest. Jawon Pass has thrown for 1,697 yards and seven touchdowns, but also has 10 interceptions. Malik Cunningham has also seen time under center. He has thrown for 319 yards while rushing for 244 yards. Trey Smith is the leading rusher on the team, but has just 263 yards.
Syracuse continues to score
Syracuse has won three straight games coming into Friday’s contest. The Orange defeated Wake Forest on the road last weekend, 41-24. They are now 7-2 overall, 4-2 in the ACC, 6-2-1 against the spread and 5-4 with the over. Cuse has hit the over in three of its last four games.
The Orange are rolling on offense this season, putting up 43.3 points and 478.2 yards per game on offense. Their run game is averaging over 200 yards per contest. Quarterback Eric Dungey has been leading the offense with 2,001 passing yards and 13 touchdowns while also rushing for 628 yards and 10 touchdowns. Moe Neal has added 557 rushing yards while two others have over 220 rushing yards each. Neal is questionable for this game due to an unspecified injury. Jamal Curtis has been the top receiver for the Orange, catching 40 passes for 734 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, Syracuse is allowing 28.1 points and 432.2 yards per game this year.
College Football Betting Trends
Louisville
Louisville has hit the over in five straight ACC games, but has hit the under in five of its last seven games in November.
Syracuse
Syracuse has hit the under in four of its last five games following a win and the Orange are 11-4-1 with the under in their last 16 home games.
Prediction:
It’s a short week for both teams, which could lead to some poor execution on offense, but I have no doubt that Syracuse should be able to run right over the Louisville defense. The Orange have a dominant ground game and are facing an awful run defense. Louisville may struggle more with the ball, as they still are seeking an identity on offense this year and haven’t scored well on the road. While I think Syracuse can put up a big total, I don’t think Louisville can answer and it will lead to the two going under.
College Football Prediction: Louisville/Syracuse Under 69
