Temple vs. SMU Odds
No. 23 Temple is coming off a loss, but the Owls are still unbeaten in the AAC and look to remain that way tonight when they hit the road to face SMU at 8PM ET on ESPN2.
According to oddsmakers at MyBookie, Temple is the favorite on the road, as the Owls are getting odds of -13 points against the Mustangs. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 51 points. These two last met in 2013, with SMU picking up a 59-49 win at home.
Temple is 7-1 on the season, 4-0 in the AAC, 6-2 against the spread and 5-3 with the under. The Owls are coming off a 24-20 loss at home to Notre Dame last week for their first loss. Temple is giving up just 15.8 points and 327.2 yards per game on defense this year, while the offense is averaging 30.8 points and 339.5 yards per contest. Jahad Thomas has run for 904 yards and 13 touchdowns to lead the offense while P.J. Walker has thrown for 1,501 yards and 10 touchdowns. Robby Anderson is the leading receiver with 33 catches for 441 yards and five touchdowns.
SMU is 1-7 overall, 0-4 in the AAC, 4-4 against the spread and 5-3 with the over. The Mustangs are coming off a 40-31 loss to Tulsa last week for their sixth straight defeat. SMU is averaging 28.8 points and 414.2 yards per game on offense, but the defense is giving up 43.6 points and 524.4 yards per game. Matt Davis has thrown for 1,775 yards and 14 touchdowns to lead the offense while also rushing for a team-high 450 yards and seven scores. The leading receiver is Courtland Sutton, who has 38 catches for 719 yards and nine touchdowns.
