Florida vs. Arkansas Prediction
Will Arkansas pull off the upset at home today when it takes on Florida at 3:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Razorbacks are now 3.5-point home underdogs versus the Gators after opening as a 5.5-point dog earlier in the week. As for the total, the number hit the board at 47 but has been bet down a full point to 46 at the majority of online and Vegas sports books.
These teams are facing off for the first time since 2013. Florida has won all nine meetings with Arkansas as SEC foes, including two matchups in the SEC Championship game in 1995 and 2006. The Razorbacks' only win in this series came in their first-ever meeting in the 1982 Bluebonnet Bowl.
Arkansas is also looking for its third win over an AP-ranked opponent this season after having already knocked off No. 12 Ole Miss and NO. 15 TCU. According to ESPN.com, in Arkansas program history, the Razorbacks have had just four seasons in which they won three or more games against ranked foes (1977, 1999, 2010 and 2011).
OUR PREDICTION: Arkansas needs to do a better job of protecting quarterback Austin Allen, who continues to make plays every week despite his offensive line often turning him into a punching bag. But if the Hogs can keep Allen upright, Arkansas has a chance of pulling off the upset outright. The line has already dropped two points since the opening number hit the board, which indicates sharp action hitting the underdog. I like the dog here too and will take the points with the hook. Arkansas is well rested coming off its bye and should be fired up at home today.
