Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Wildcats are 3-point favorites to beat the Buffaloes. The total, meanwhile, sits at 56.5 points. As of this writing, 61% of the public betting tickets wagered on this matchup are on the Buffaloes.
Colorado Buffaloes
Colorado sophomore WR Laviska Shenault (toe) is questionable to play on Friday against Arizona. Shenault has missed the last two weeks after injuring his toe against USC on October 13. The Buffaloes have clearly missed the playmaker, and while he’s not the only reason they’ve lost three straight, it’s clear they’ve missed him. Anyone would. We should know more about Shenault’s status as the week progresses, so stay tuned.
Arizona Wildcats
Arizona junior QB Khalil Tate completed 19-of-33 passes for 189 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Saturday’s 44-15 win against Oregon and he rushed for 26 yards. Tate did not play last Saturday at UCLA in a loss, but he was back in this one to help the Ducks pull off the upset on homecoming. Tate tossed one touchdown to Shun Brown, and he hooked up twice with Shawn Poindexter. The three TD strikes were his most against an FBS opponent since he lit up Purdue for five touchdowns in the Foster Farms Bowl. He also had five TD passes against FCS Southern Utah earlier in September. Tate and the Wildcats will look to keep up the good work against skidding Colorado on Friday night.
Betting Trends
Colorado
The Buffaloes are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games played on Friday.
Arizona
The Wildcats are 6-2 against the spread in in their last eight home games.
Prediction
I think the Wildcats are being overvalued in this spot because they beat Oregon 44-15 a week ago. But that Ducks team was absolutely wiped, having beaten Washington at home, then traveling to Pullman to play a hyped Washington State team, then hitting the road again in what amounted to a meaningless game against Arizona. Granted, Kahlil Tate looked great upon his return but this Wildcats team has not looked great for most of the season. I like Colorado to snap its current three-game losing streak but I like having the field goal in my back pocket in case the game is close at the end.
