The Fresno State Bulldogs are ranked 23rd nationally and are huge favorites Saturday night when they play at UNLV. Will one-loss Fresno State cover the huge spread on the road or can UNLV keep it closer than oddsmakers project?

Bulldogs crush Hawaii at home

Fresno State secured a 50-20 home victory last week at Hawaii to improve to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in conference action. The Bulldogs led 47-13 through three quarters. KeeSean Johnson made eight catches for 102 yards, while Jared Rice had six receptions for 70 and a score. Jamire Jordan had two catches for 61 yarsd and a TD. Jordan Mims had two receptions for 32 yards and a TD. Derrion Grim added a 6-yard touchdown reception.

Rebels drop fifth straight

UNLV lost 50-37 at San Jose State to fall to 2-6 overall and 0-4 in conference play. Max Gilliam went 28-of-50 passing for 387 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions. Lexington Thomas led the ground game with 19 carries for 61 yards, while Gilliam had 10 rushes for 56 yards and a TD. College Football Betting Trends

Fresno State

The Bulldogs are 6-0-1 in their last seven games after racking up 280 or more passing yards their previous game. Fresno State is 4-0 ATS in its last four games after winning by 20 or more points the previous game.

The underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings. The Rebels are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.

Fresno State has won its last two games in blowout fashion, but with tougher games ahead this could be a bit of a letdown. I'm certainly not saying UNLV will pull off the massive upset, but the Bulldogs could win by three touchdowns and still not cover the spread. On the road, I don't know how up the Bulldogs will get for this contest against a lowly team. Take the Rebels to stay within the big number.
