Ducks win seventh straight
The Oregon Ducks are riding a seven-game win streak right now following a 37-35 win at home over Washington State. Oregon is now 7-1 overall, 5-0 in the Pac-12, 4-4 against the spread and 5-3 with the under.
The Ducks have been led by their defense this year, which is giving up just 14.8 points and 310.6 yards per game. Jevon Holland is leading the defense with 33 tackles and four interceptions. Offensively, Oregon is putting up 36 points and 470.2 yards per contest. Justin Herbert has thrown for 2,104 yards and 21 touchdowns this year with just one interception. CJ Verdell has rushed for 753 yards and five touchdowns while Jacob Breeland has 26 receptions for 405 yards and six touchdowns.
USC heating up
USC is riding a two-game win streak right now following a 35-31 victory at Colorado last weekend. The Trojans are 5-3 on the season, 4-1 in the Pac-12, 4-4 against the spread and 5-3 with the under.
The USC defense has struggled with yards allowed, giving up 429.5 yards per game. However, the Trojans are giving up just 24.9 points per game. Offensively, USC is putting up 31.2 points and 442.4 yards per game. Kedon Slovis has played well this year, throwing for 1,625 yards and 13 touchdowns with five interceptions. Vavae Malepeai is the leading rusher with 406 yards and four scores, but he has been out with a knee injury. Michael Pittman Jr. and Tyler Vaughns have combined for 100 receptions for 1,393 yards and 12 touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Oregon
The Ducks have hit the under in seven straight games on grass and 12-3-1 with the under in their last 16 games on the road.
USC
USC has hit the under in five of their last six games overall and in seven of their last 10 games following a win.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in five of their last six meetings. However, offense was a strength for both teams for many years. Oregon has turned into a defensive team this season and the Ducks have held five different opponents under 10 points this years. Despite that, USC is a pretty good offensive team and the Ducks have had some trouble with good offensive teams this year. Going on the road again USC is likely to lead to some points being scored on them. USC isn’t much of a defense to worry about. Oregon should be able to use its strong passing attack to find holes in the USC secondary. I could see another 30-30 range game where these two hit the over late in the contest.
