Texas A&M Aggies
Texas A&M sophomore QB Kellen Mond completed 23-of-46 passes for 235 yards with a touchdown and interception in a 28-13 loss to Mississippi State on Saturday. Nick Fitzgerald played his best game of the year on Saturday. His counterpart, Mond, played arguably his worst. The accuracy just wasn’t there, and he was fortunate to not have thrown another interception or two. Mond has mostly been solid — and made huge strides from last year — but this was not a great example of that. He’ll look to rebound next Saturday against Auburn.
Auburn Tigers
Auburn HC Gus Malzahn said that redshirt freshman RB JaTarvious Whitlow (various) is day-to-day. Whitlow is working through both shoulder and leg injuries, the latter of which was sustained against Ole Miss prior to Auburn’s bye week. The redshirt freshman did not practice during that bye last week. We’ll see if he can ramp it up over the coming days, with Auburn set to play Texas A&M on Saturday. Should Whitlow be unable to play in that contest, Kam Martin would be next man up in the rotation.
