Syracuse putting up points

Syracuse has won its last two games, including a 51-41 victory over N.C. State, to move to 3-2 in the ACC and 6-2 overall. The Orange are 5-2-1 against the spread and 5-3 with the over.

The Orange are lighting up the scoreboard this season, averaging 43.6 points and 485.4 yards per game on offense. Eric Dungey has thrown for 1,844 yards and 13 touchdowns to lead the offense. He also has rushed for 509 yards and nine touchdowns. Receiver Jamal Custis has caught 35 passes for 672 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, Syracuse is allowing 28.6 points and 432 yards per contest.

Wake Forest ends skid

The Demon Deacons ended their 2-game losing streak last weekend with a 56-35 win at Louisville last week. Wake Forest is now 4-4 overall, 1-3 in the ACC, 2-6 against the spread and 6-2 with the over.

Wake Forest is respectable on offense this season as well, putting up 33.4 points and 455.9 yards per contest. Sam Hartman has thrown for 1,709 yards and 14 touchdowns this season while Matt Colburn and Cade Carney have combined to run for 1,175 yards and 10 touchdowns. Greg Dortch is the leading receiver with 60 catches for 751 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, Wake Forest is struggling, allowing 36.8 points and 502.6 yards per contest.

College Football Betting Trends

Syracuse

The Orange are 14-5-1 with the under in their last 20 conference games and 5-2 with the under in their last seven road games.

Wake Forest

Wake Forest has hit the over in five straight home games and in eight of its last nine home games against a team with a winning road record.

Prediction:

This total is quite high, but certainly has the capability of pushing to 80 points. The Demon Deacons give up points by the handful and have an offense capable of scoring a lot as well. Syracuse is on a roll on offense and its defense is quite suspect. They have went over 75 points in three straight, but two of those games were in OT. Wake Forest is a team that tends to rely on its run game, which will limit just how much of a shootout this can be. With the total so high, there is little breathing room for error. I will take my chances with the under.
