FSU coming off bad loss
Florida State is coming off a lopsided loss at home to Clemson, 59-10, in one of the worst losses to a rival in some time. The Seminoles are now 4-4 overall, 2-4 in the ACC, 3-5 against the spread and 5-3 with the over. They have hit the over in four of their last five.
The Seminoles are struggling on offense this year, averaging 23.3 points and 349.5 yards per contest. Their rushing attack is putting up only 83.5 yards per game. Cam Akers is the leading rusher with 467 yards and three touchdowns. Deondre Francois has thrown for 2,039 yards and 13 touchdowns, but also has seven interceptions. Nyqwan Murray has caught 40 passes for 546 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, FSU is putting up 28.4 points and 390.8 yards per game. Their pass defense is giving up 287.9 yards per contest.
N.C. State drops two straight
N.C. State has lost two straight games after a 5-0 start. The Wolfpack fell at Clemson and Syracuse the last two weekends. They are now 5-2 overall, 2-2 in the ACC, 3-4 against the spread and 4-3 with the under.
The Wolfpack are putting up 30.4 points and 462.7 yards per game on offense this year, including over 330 passing yards per contest. Ryan Finley has thrown for 2,250 yards and 13 touchdowns to lead the offense while Kelvin Harmon has caught 46 passes for 794 yards and four scores. Reggie Gallaspy II is the team’s leading rusher with 448 yards and nine touchdowns. He is questionable to play this weekend with an unspecified injury. Defensively, N.C. State is giving up 25.1 points and 391.3 yards per game. Their pass defense is giving up 290 yards per contest.
College Football Betting Trends
Florida State is 3-1-1 with the over in its last five road games and 5-1-1 with the over in its last seven against a winning team.
N.C. State is 14-3 with the under in its last 17 conference games and in 12 of its last 17 games overall.
N.C. State has been good about scoring at home. It has put up at least 28 in its last three at home. FSU has been good at scoring in recent weeks outside the loss to Clemson. N.C. State is certainly not Clemson. Both defense have their flaws and that should lead to a fair amount of points in this game. FSU and N.C. State will both be able to use their speed to break big scoring play and allow the over to hit.
College Football Prediction: Florida State/N.C. State Over 53.5
