Michigan gets needed win
Michigan picked up a rare win over a top-10 opponent last weekend when the Wolverines ran over Notre Dame, 45-14. Michigan is now 6-2 on the season, 3-2 in the Big Ten, 4-4 against the spread and 6-2 with the over.
The Wolverines have one of the top defenses in the nation, allowing just 18.4 points and 271.9 yards per game this year. Jordan Glasgow is leading the defendse with 55 tackles and four sacks. Offensively, Michigan is putting up 31 points and 397.8 yards per game. The Wolverines are led by Shea Patterson, who has thrown for 1,622 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also has five rushing touchdowns. Zach Charbonnet is leading the ground attack with 531 yards and nine touchdowns while Ronnie Bell has 25 receptions for 441 yards.
Terps on a losing streak
Maryland is on a three-game losing streak following a 52-10 loss at Minnesota last weekend. The Terrapins are now 3-5 on the season, 1-4 in the Big Ten, 4-4 against the spread and 5-3 with the over.
The Terps are putting up 32.4 points and 403.4 yards per game on offense this season while allowing 29 points and 424.9 yards per game on defense. Tyrrell Pigrome has been the starting QB this year, but has dealt with a lot of injuries and is questionable to play this weekend due to a leg injury. Josh Jackson has filled in for him and thrown for 968 yards and 10 touchdowns. Pigrome has 642 passing yards and three scores. Javon Leake is the team’s leading rusher with 543 yards and seven touchdowns. Dontay Demus Jr. is the leading receiver with 31 catches for 487 yards and four touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Michigan
Michigan has hit the over in five straight road games and in five of their last six conference games.
Maryland
Maryland has hit the over in four of its last five home games and in six of its last eight games on fieldturf.
Prediction:
These two have hit the under in three of their last five meetings, including the last two meetings at Maryland. The Wolverines seem to have gotten their offense on track. Their last six quarters have been much improved against some good defensive teams. That should allow them to run over Maryland this week. The Wolverines also have a very good defense, though, that I expect could keep Maryland to 10 points or below. The Terps are beat up and just not clicking at all in Big Ten play. Michigan may score a lot, but its defense will be why the under hits.
