Heisman candidate eyes another road win
Having just demolished North Carolina State, will Louisville keep chugging along against another ACC adversary today?
Lamar Jackson & Co. visit Virginia at 12 p.m. ET. Online sports book BetDSI opened the Cardinals as 27-point favorites over the Cavaliers. The over/under is 70.5.
In its 53-14 rout of the Wolfpack last week, UL amassed 553 total yards of offense. Not surprisingly, Jackson accounted for 431 of those. The sophomore has thrown for 18 touchdowns and racked up another 16 scores on the ground to build a more-than-credible Heisman Trophy case.
On the flip side, the Cavs continue to labor under Bronco Mendenhall. The former BYU maestro seemed to be moving matters in the right direction with back-to-back triumphs over Central Michigan and Duke as October commenced. Subsequent defeats at the hands of Pittsburgh and North Carolina, however, have made a bowl berth an extremely unlikely proposition in Charlottesville.

This afternoon’s main question revolves around whether East Carolina transfer Kurt Benkert can push the ball downfield vs. the Cards’ defense. He struggled mightily in the UNC contest, going 19-of-32 for a mere 126 yards. We already understand that Jackson will produce Herculean numbers, so delight in the outpouring of points.
