West Virginia is seeking its first 7-0 start since 2006 when it finished 11-2 on the year. This is the toughest remaining game on the Mountaineers’ schedule but the good news for them is that the road team has won each of the last two matchups, including Oklahoma State’s 33-26 victory last season in Morgantown.

Oklahoma State lost five of its last six games against AP Top-10 opponents, including the last two (with both at home last season). The Cowboys’ last win against a team in the AP Top-10 came against TCU last year, but they have lost seven straight to Top-10 opponents when unranked…James Washington, meanwhile, has five games with at least 150 receiving yards and a touchdown since the start of last season, which is most among active players.

OUR PREDICTION: West Virginia’s defense has been stingy this season and it seemingly is getting better each week. The Mountaineers have held three straight conference opponents to under 20 points, which is something they haven’t done since 2010-11 as members of the Big East. One of those three opponents was Texas Tech in Lubbock, where the Mountaineers held the explosive Red Raiders to just 17 points on their home turf. The Mountaineers are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven conference games while the Cowboys have failed to cover in five of their last seven Big 12 games.
