Virginia Cavaliers Game Notes
UVA redshirt sophomore QB Brennan Armstrong (head) is still in concussion protocol. Armstrong (6'2/220) suffered the injury in a home loss to NC State and was unable to practice or play last week against Wake Forest. Backup QB Lindell Stone started in his place and while performing adequately, Stone was not up to the task of defeating Wake Forest as he clearly lacked the polish of Armstrong. OC Robert Anae said Armstrong had attended practice this week, but that he was limited to stretching and light jogging. UVA has a tough matchup this week against Miami in South Beach.
Miami Hurricanes Game Notes
Miami redshirt senior QB D'Eriq King completed 16-of-31 passes for 222 yards and four touchdowns in a 31-19 victory over Pitt on Saturday. King (5'11/202) also rushed 11 times for 32 yards as Miami was able to exploit Pitt's secondary despite averaging only 2.6 YPC on the ground. Despite putting 31 points on the board, Miami's offense had it's struggles on the day, converting only four-of-13 third-downs and rolling up a modest 331 total yards. Still, King was able make plays when it counted, hitting Will Mallory on two of his four touchdown passes, including a 45-yard streak right down the seam. It was a nice bounce back game after a down performance last week against Clemson.
