Indiana on skid
Indiana lost its third straight last weekend in a 33-28 defeat at the hands of Penn State. The Hoosiers are now 4-4 on the season, 1-4 in the Big Ten, 3-5 against the spread and 5-3 with the over. Indiana has hit the over in three straight games.
IU has been streaky on offense, averaging 26.4 points and 418.9 yards per game. Peyton Ramsey is leading the team with 1,860 passing yards and 13 touchdowns, but he also has eight interceptions. Stevie Scott is the leading rusher with 695 yards and six scores. Defensively, Indiana is allowing 28.8 points and 389.3 yards per game.
Gophers can’t get on track
Minnesota has lost four straight games coming into Friday. The last loss was this weekend at Nebraska, 53-28. Minnesota is now 3-4 overall, 0-4 in the Big Ten, 3-4 against the spread and 4-3 with the over.
Minnesota has been struggling on defense as of late and now giving up 28.6 points and 397.7 yards per game. On offense, the Gophers are putting up just 25.9 points and 368.1 yards per game. Zack Annexstad has thrown for 1,277 yards and nine touchdowns, but also has seven interceptions. He is dealing with an abdominal injury that has him listed as questionable for this game. Tyler Johnson has been the top receiver with 705 yards and six scores on 47 catches. Mohamed Ibrahim is the leading rusher with 464 yards and three touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Indiana
Indiana has hit the over in its last four games in October and in five of its last six conference games.
Minnesota
Minnesota has hit the over in five of its last seven games after a loss, but 9-3 with the under in its last 12 games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game.
Prediction:
These two have had high-scoring games and very low-scoring contests. The total isn’t terribly high for this game as both offenses have went through funks. However, each team’s defense has given up at least 30 points in their last three. Minnesota has give up at least 40 in three of its last four. Look for both offenses to see improvement due to their poor defenses. Even if the Gophers are without their QB, I still expect Minnesota to have a steady ground attack against Indiana. Go with the over for this one.
