Oklahoma State Cowboys Game Notes

Oklahoma State redshirt junior QB Spencer Sanders completed 19-of-32 passes for 178 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Saturday’s 32-24 win over Texas. Texas has struggled with dual-threat runners in 2021, and Sanders tested that quirk, despite only finishing with 20 yards rushing (after omission of sack yards) and another score. The threat of Sanders' legs opened up space for RB Jaylen Warren, who almost rushed for 200 yards. The 6-0 Cowboys are getting by without hitting downfield passes because of their run game and defense. We'll see if that continues to be the case at Iowa State next week -- tricky matchup for the Pokes.

Iowa State Cyclones Game Notes

Iowa State senior QB Brock Purdy completed 22-of-25 passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns in a 33-20 victory over Kansas State on Saturday. Purdy (6'1/220) led the cyclones with great efficiency, setting a personal record with 88% completion percentage. This game was the Purdy and Hall show as they accounted for 95% of the total yards on the game. This was Purdy's second straight game without an interception and his fourth straight with a touchdown pass. The Cyclones take on Oklahoma State next Saturday.

Oklahoma State vs. Iowa State Betting Prediction

The underdog has cashed in five of the last six meetings between these two teams, while the Cowboys are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games overall and are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games as a road underdog. Oklahoma State has also cashed for bettors in 20 of its last 27 games as an underdog, is 35-16-1 ATS in its last 52 games played in the month of October and is 13-3-1 ATS in its last 17 games coming off an ATS win.
