Public Betting Trends

According to the latest oddsmakers, USC is the favorite on the road, as the Trojans are getting odds of -13 points against Colorado. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 60.5 points. The public betting currently has 84 percent going on USC as the road favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NCAAF Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Trojans run over Arizona

USC put an end to a two-game losing streak this past weekend when it put up an impressive 41-14 win over Arizona at home. The Trojans are 4-3 on the season, 3-1 in the Pac-12, 4-3 against the spread and 5-2 with the under.

The Trojans are average on offense and struggling a bit on defense. USC is putting up 30.7 points and 431.6 yards per game on offense while giving up 24 points and 416.6 yards per game on defense. Kedon Slovis has battled some injuries, but is healthy now and has thrown for 1,219 yards and nine touchdowns to lead the offense. USC has also been beat up at running back, as Vavae Malepeai is out indefinitely with a knee injury while Stephen Carr and Markese Stepp are both questionable for Friday with injuries. The three have combined for close to 1,000 rushing yards. Michael Pittman Jr. is the team’s leading receiver with 43 catches for 599 yards and five touchdowns.

Buffaloes on a skid

Colorado is on a three-game losing streak right now following a 41-10 loss at Washington State last weekend. The Buffaloes are now just 3-4 on the season, 1-3 in the Pac-12, 3-4 against the spread and 4-3 with the over.

Defense has been an issue for Colorado all season, as the Buffaloes are giving up 34.9 points and 483.1 yards per game this year. Offensively, Colorado is putting up 26.6 points and 407.7 yards per contest. Steven Montez is leading the team this year with 1,723 passing yards and 10 touchdowns, but he also has eight interceptions. Alex Fontenot is the leading rusher with 568 yards and four touchdowns. Tony Brown is the leading receiver with 37 catches for 480 yards and four touchdowns.

College Football Betting Trends

The Trojans have hit the under in four of their last five games.

The Buffaloes have hit the under in five straight games and in five of their last seven games in October.

USC has won 10 straight meetings with Colorado and the two have hit the under in seven of their last 10 encounters. The Trojans are moving the ball well right now and Colorado has a bad defense, but USC is beat up at skill positions and I think that will lead to some offensive hiccups. On the road, USC’s offense has been noticeably worse than on the road. On a short week, I think that will continue to be a problem. Colorado doesn’t offer up a lot of fear offensive either. They have not been able to consistently score and should struggle with the USC team speed.
