TCU vs. West Virginia Prediction
Will West Virginia cash for bettors this afternoon when it hosts TCU as a home favorite at 3:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Mountaineers are 6.5-point home favorites versus the Horned Frogs after opening as a 4.5-point favorite earlier this week. As for the total, the number hit the board at 66 but has been bet down a half point to 65.5.

The Horned Frogs are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven conference games and have failed to cover in five of their last six games overall. That said, they’ve covered the number in four of their last five games versus an opponent with a winning record and are 7-3 at the betting window in their last 10 games played in the month of October.
The Mountaineers are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games overall despite covering on the road last week versus Texas Tech. They’re also 1-4 against the number in their last five games coming off a win, are 1-5 ATS in their last six games played in the month of October, and are 1-7 ATS in their last eight games versus an opponent with a winning record.

OUR PREDICTION: Despite their recent history against the spread, I like the Mountaineers to cover today. This is an underrated WVU team that is led by quarterback Skyler Howard and a defense that is improving by the week. In their last two games, the Mountaineers held Kansas State to 16 points in a 17-16 victory and the explosive Texas Tech offense to just 17 points in Lubbock. Howard, meanwhile, has thrown for 1,590 yards, is completing 66.1 percent of his passes and is also a threat to run, racking up 195 yards on 44 carries with three scores. This isn’t the same Gary Patterson defense that we’ve seen in years past and I’m willing to bet his quarterback, Kenny Hill, struggles today with that WVU defense.
