Bet on San Jose State vs. San Diego State

San Diego State is coming off a 17-3 win at Fresno State to improve to 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in the Mountain West. The Aztecs have hit the under in their last two games, but are 3-3 with the over/under this season. San Diego State has a top-level defense that is holding opponents to just 20 points and 297.2 yards per game, including only 199.2 passing yards per game. On offense, the Aztecs are averaging 30.8 points and 411.3 yards per game. Their run game is leading the way, posting 246 yards per game. Donnel Pumphrey is the leading rusher in the country. He has put up 1,111 yards and 11 touchdowns thus far in the 2016 season. Christian Chapman has added 984 passing yards and eight touchdowns from the quarterback position.

San Jose State is coming off a 14-10 win over Nevada last week to move to 2-5 on the season and 1-2 in the Mountain West. The Spartans are 3-3 with the over/under in their six lined games this season. San Jose State is giving up 35.7 points and 444 yards per game on the year, including 228.3 rushing yards per game. The offense is only putting up 25 points and 375.3 yards per contest. The Spartans have three backs with over 300 yards, led by Malik Roberson, who has 329 yards. The total is set low due to San Diego State’s defense and San Jose State’s lack of an offense. The Spartans have been held to 17 points or less in five of their seven games this year while San Diego State has held four opponents to 7 points or less. The Aztecs also aren’t a team that is likely to overwhelm on offense. Pumphrey should continue to rack up the yards, but that will lead to long possessions and a ball-control style for SDSU. Due to that, look for the under to hit as the Aztecs keep the Spartans off the scoreboard and have lengthy possessions on offense.
