According to the latest oddsmakers, Georgia is the clear favorite in this game, as the Bulldogs are getting odds of -25.5 points against Kentucky. The over/under total for the game is listed at just 46 points. The public betting currently has 74 percent going on Georgia as the home favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NCAAF Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
Georgia upset by South Carolina
The Bulldogs were off to a 5-0 start to the season, but are coming off a surprising 20-17 loss to South Carolina at home in double OT last week. Georgia is now 5-1 overall, 2-1 in the SEC, 3-3 against the spread and 4-2 with the under.
Georgia has been solid on both sides of the ball this year, though the offense came up short last week. The Bulldogs have been giving up just 12.3 points and 281.7 yards per game this year while putting up 38.5 points and 505.2 yards per game on offense. Jake Fromm has thrown for 1,371 yards and nine touchdowns to lead the offense while D’Andre Swift has 573 rushing yards and five touchdowns. George Pickens is the leading receiver with 19 catches for 283 yards and two scores.
Wildcats pick up needed win
Kentucky put an end to a three-game losing streak last weekend with a 24-20 win at home over Arkansas. The Wildcats are now 3-3 on the season, 1-3 in the SEC, 4-2 against the spread and 3-3 with the over/under total.
The Wildcats are not anything too special on offense or defense. Kentucky is putting up 23.5 points and 384.3 yards per game, while the defense is allowing 23.7 points and 380.7 yards per contest. Kentucky has had QB injuries be a problem this year and Sawyer Smith is dealing with a shoulder injury, but he is expected to play this evening after missing the last few games. He has thrown for 665 yards and four touchdowns this year. Asim Rose is the team’s leading rusher with 420 yards and two scores while Lynn Bowden Jr. has 30 receptions for 348 yards and a score.
College Football Betting Trends
Georgia
The Bulldogs are 24-9-2 with the under in their last 35 home games and 3-1-1 with the under in their last five conference games.
Kentucky
The Wildcats are 10-2 with the under in their last 12 conference games, but have hit the over in five straight following a win.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in four of their last six meetings, including the last two encounters. The Bulldogs had a big offensive letdown last week, but the defense remained strong. Georgia is going to be ready to go on that side of the ball today, especially against a weak Kentucky offense. The Wildcats aren’t the worst defensive team, so I could see them getting a few stops on the road against a Georgia team that has had some dry spells on offense in recent games. I think that will lead to a low total tonight.
