North Carolina vs. Virginia Pick
When North Carolina and Virginia meet on Saturday will it be a low-scoring game between the two ACC foes?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cavaliers are 8-point underdogs to the Tar Heels while the over/under total currently sits at 68 points. Virginia had opened as a 10-point dog before the line dropped two points, while the total opened at that same 68-point number.
North Carolina enters play having won six of its first eight games this season. The Tar Heels upset Miami 20-13 as a 6-point road underdog last week and are now 4-3 against the spread this season as well. Mitch Trubisky completed 33-of-46 passes for 299 yards with two touchdowns in the win, while Bug Howard caught 10 passes for 156 yards.
Virginia, meanwhile, is coming in off a 45-31 loss as a 3.5-point underdog to Pittsburgh last weekend. Kurt Benkert completed just 20-of-44 passes for 278 yards with one touchdown and one interception but the defense was gashed for 346 yards by the Panthers' dynamic rushing attack. The loss dropped the Cavaliers record to 2-4 on the year and 3-2-1 against the spread.
OUR PICK: The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams when Virginia is the host and is 8-2-1 in the last 11 meetings overall. The under has also hit in all five of the Tar Heels' last five games in October and is 11-5 in their last 16 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game. On the other side, the under is 6-2-1 in the Cavaliers' last nine games played in the month of October and is 13-5-1 in their last 19 conference games.
